Terms and Conditions:
A) Deposits and Cancellations
An initial deposit of
$500 is required before Internship India engages in the
placement process. The deposit contains a $150 non-refundable
administration fee. Internship India is unable to accept
applications without confirmation of payment.
Remaining portion of the
deposit paid is refundable if cancellation is made in writing at
least 48 days prior to internship start date and before
confirmation. Internship India is unable to accept Verbal
notifications.
No refund is given at
any time after confirmation of the placement (confirmation
document sent by Internship India).
No refund is given after
the start of internship except in the case of host company
negligence. The applicant may ask to be placed with another
organization (at no extra charge) should the following occur:

Sexual/racial
harassment or discrimination

Inability of the
company to continue operations
-
Inability of the
company to offer the applicant an internship
-
The
pre-dominant language spoken at the office is not English
(unless already agreed with the applicant at the time of
confirmation)
If the applicant is
dismissed from the company due to their English level provided
the applicant has not misled Internship India/partner
organization about their English level at the time of
application.
In the event the
applicant requests another placement due to the above-mentioned
reason(s), Internship India will provide the applicant with one
alternative
An applicant will be
granted a full refund (including the $150 administration fee) if
Internship India for any reason is unable to place the
applicant.
Any changes of
preferences by applicants (with regards to the internship field)
after submitting the application documents to Internship India
will constitute a new application and attracts full internship
fees.
Total fees due are
payable within 7 days of placement confirmation and before the
start of the internship.
B) Postponement of
internship start dates
In the event applicants
postpone their internship start dates after the placement has
been confirmed then a maximum of three months is allowed at no
extra cost providing the host company agrees to the
postponement. In the event the host company is unable to
accommodate the postponement then Internship India will be
unable to issue any refunds to the applicant.
Applicants may postpone
their internship start date within 2 weeks of submitting the
application at no extra cost providing the internship has not
been confirmed, otherwise above point applies.
C) Bank fees
Bank fees incurred in
the applicant’s country are the responsibility of the applicant.
Bank fees incurred in India are the responsibility of Internship
India.
Bank fees deducted in
error from Internship India account will be re-charged to the
applicant.
Credit card payment will
attract a (2.5%) fee on the total payment amount.
D) Application periods
Internship India
requires a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice before engaging in the
placement process. The applicant may request the Internship
India’s“Express service” which requires a minimum of 1 weeks’
notice. Internship India may require additional notice for
specific requests. Applicants will be notified at the time of
application.
E) Express service
The “Express service”
fee means that applicants are able to request a start date in
less than the normal notice period (see above point). This fee
is $200, along with any deposit paid is fully refundable if
Internship India is unable to place the applicant on their
requested date (provided the minimum notice period is met). Upon
the expiry of the “Express notice period” the applicant may
choose to continue using Internship India’s services, in which
case normal cancellation and refund policies will apply.
G) Interviews and internship
offers
Refusal by the applicant to
attend interviews IF NEEDED will not constitute reasonable grounds
for a refund.
Refusal by an applicant to
accept an internship for reasons not specified on their application
will not constitute reasonable grounds for rejecting an internship
offer. This will therefore constitute a cancellation by the
applicant.
Internship India does not
guarantee the company size or the exact location of the internship
within the requested city. Applicants cannot choose the company.
Internship India internships are organized to provide applicants
with adequate training and experience in their field of interest.
The size, exact location within the requested city and international
presence of the company are not valid reasons for a refund or
refusing an internship offer.
Applicants are not allowed
to reject a placement offer made by Internship India or leave their
placement after starting for any of the following reasons:

Size of the company
-
Number of employees at
the company
-
Location of the company
-
Commuting distance to
the company (Commuting time of 1 hours is generally accepted in
all Indian cities due to the geography of the country).

International profile of
the company
-
Change of preferences
after application
-
Personal issues/relationships with other
staff members and the internship supervisor
Level of supervision
provided. Training and supervision will vary from one company to
another. There are no minimum hours that the supervisor is obliged
to spend with the applicant on a daily basis.
Level of responsibility and
tasks allocated. This is ultimately determined by the company and is
dependent on the qualification/experience and performance of the
applicant.
